Tutut Indriaty
Tutut Indriaty is graduating with a Master of Urban Spatial Analytics from the University of Pennsylvania, where she explored how data and maps can drive more inclusive and responsive urban policy. With a background in urban and regional planning from Bandung Institute of Technology, her professional journey began in Jakarta’s Department of Transportation, where she first saw the power of spatial data in solving real-world mobility challenges.
Her work spans Indonesia’s capital city to its remote islands—leading geospatial analysis for toll road acquisition, designing accessible dashboards for public engagement, and contributing to national planning strategies. At Penn, she deepened her skills in programming, machine learning, and cloud-based geospatial tools, bringing them to life in projects like a dynamic parking pricing dashboard for El Paso and a land acquisition tool designed for elderly users.
As a planner and technologist, Tutut is drawn to the intersections of infrastructure, equity, and design. She believes that good planning starts with listening—to data, to people, and to place. Her work blends policy insight with technical creativity, and she looks forward to continuing this path after graduation—whether in government, research, or civic tech spaces.
