PennDesign and The Fabric Workshop and Museum present a daylong event featuring a two-part panel discussion and film screening examining the life, vision and work of Kahn by those who knew him.
Kahn’s three children, filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn, painter Alexandra Tyng, and musician Sue Ann Kahn will talk about their father, the artist and the man, in a panel moderated by FWM Executive Director Susan L. Talbott. William Whitaker, Curator of the Architectural Archives, will lead a second panel with four prominent architects, Henry Wilcots, Roy Vollmer, Reyhan Larimer, and Luis Vincent Rivera, who worked alongside Kahn in his Philadelphia office.
The day culminates in a screening of Nathaniel Kahn’s award winning documentary My Architect: A Son’s Journey, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker. Attendees also have the opportunity to view “Louis I. Kahn, Barge Architect,” an exhibition highlighting the floating concert halls designed by Kahn at the Architectural Archives. Light refreshments will be served.
