The PennDesign PhD Program was well represented at the 68th Annual Society of Architectural Historians Confereence this spring. The conference took place April 15-19 in Chicago.
PhD candidate Martin Hershenzon presented the paper "The Jewish Agency for Israel - Designs for Cowsheds (1953-1967)." Alumnus Charles Davis (PhD '09) presented "Evolutionary Tectonics: Race, Style and Variation in Der Stil." Candidates Eric Bellin and Ariel Genadt co-chaired the session "Destroying and Constructing Reality: Material and Form Since 1800." Assistant Professor Daniel Barber chaired the session "Architectural History in the Anthropocene" and participated in the University of Pennsylvania Roundtable, which addressed Penn's Mellon-funded Humanities, Urbanism and Design Project.
