Whether you're originally from a large city, a suburban town, or a rural community, I think we can all agree that everyone needs delicious, healthy food! While you're in Philadelphia, you don't have to give up eating healthy or buying locally. There are many year-round farmers' markets and also Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) programs available, not to mention the big explosion of farmers' markets during the warm weather months (like now!).
My local favorite is the Clark Park Farmers' Market (a short 15 minute walk from campus) which runs year-round on Saturdays, 10am to 2pm, and adds Thursdays, 3pm to 7pm, for June through November. You can see a full list of farmers' markets in the University City area here, and a map of all Philadelphia farmers' markets here. And a helpful guide to Philadelphia CSA programs can be found here.
