Due to COVID-19 the Weitzman School of design has amended some of our application policies. As of now these policies will only be in effect for the fall 2021 application cycle.
GRE:
The following programs are waiving the GRE requirement for the upcoming year only. The GRE will not be included in the review process for these programs:
Master of Architecture
Master of Science in Architecture
PhD in Architecture
PhD in City and Regional Planning
Master of Urban Spatial Analytics
Master of Science in Historic Preservation
MSD: Historic Preservation
Master of Landscape Architecture
GRE scores are not required for the following programs; however, we will accept official test scores if you have taken the test and would like to add it to your application. We will also be accepting the at-home testing option offered by ETS.:
MSD: Advanced Architectural Design
MSD: Environmental Building Design
MSD: Robotics and Autonomous Systems
The GRE has never been required for our Master in Fine Arts program.
English language proficiency test:
Applicantswhose native language is not English and whose undergraduate training of at least 4 years has not been conducted in the English language must submit an English language proficiency test. the International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic),Pearson's PTE Academic, or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). We will accept the TOEFL iBT® Special Home Edition offered by ETS.
Transcripts/ Evaluations:
We usually require official transcripts (from US institutions) or an official evaluation (non-US institutions) along with your application. However, For the 2021 admissions cycle only, applicants are required to send official transcripts and/or official evaluations from their previous institutions to the Weitzman School of Design only if they are admitted and decide to enroll. You must however, upload a transcript (English translated if non-US institution) to your application.
