Welcome back to our blog series, Why Weitzman Wednesdays! On the first Wednesday of each month, we will share a statement from a student/alum explaining why they chose Weitzman in hopes that it will help make your decision a little easier and show why Weitzman is the right choice for you!
"I think what Weitzman really attracts me is its unique and outstanding design style and the open and supportive studio culture. Some might argue form-oriented design is untenable, but in this ever-changing world, I see it just like different ways to find spatial solutions. We should be more open and adaptive to new forms of design and technologies, and Weitzman does a great job of carrying out consistent parametric and futuristic design pedagogy. I remember during the first year of my MARCH at Penn, the school arranged summer BootCamp to teach us Maya and grasshopper skills, and during the second year, we experienced clay printing with robotic arms, the third year with Professor Jason Payne we reshaped an extreme saline landscape into the first drone-guided national monument. These seemingly uncanny design practices benefit me extraordinarily in my career and help me become the type of designer I dreamed of."
