Alexander Jackson

Alexander Jackson is the William M. Mehlhorn Scholar and a Walter R. Leach II Fellow at the Weitzman School of Design. His scholarly pursuits have engaged the hybridization of the strange with the familiar. His work received national recognition and an Honorable Mention in the 2020 Urban Land Institute Hines Competition.

During his time at Weitzman, Jackson has been committed to practice, working at the internationally recognized architecture firm, HOK, and then transitioning his experience to working at LO Design Company, an emerging practice in Philadelphia.

Beyond his academic interests, he was the Co-President of the Weitzman Student Council from 2019 – 2021. During his tenure, Jackson is most proud of establishing annual events and continuing the traditions of the student body, supporting the work of student groups at the Design School and hosting a variety of Happy Hours (sorry there wasn’t more White Claw).

Jackson is headed to Chicago to continue his practice as an architect and designer, while sitting as a guest juror at the Knowlton School of Architecture at the Ohio State University. His time at the University of Pennsylvania was formidable and inspiring, and he thanks everyone he’s met on this journey (thanks Mom)!
