About
Presented annually, the Weitzman Year End Show brings together work by graduating students across the School to capture new directions in architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning, spatial analysis and data science, historic preservation, and the fine arts. The 2021 exhibition also reveals the potential for sustained creativity and meaningful collaboration in a remote or hybrid setting such as these students experienced over the past nine months. Personalized biographies for exhibiting students provide context for the work on view and links for further exploration; individual thesis projects in architecture, landscape architecture, and preservation are presented alongside team-based work.
Because of health and safety considerations in the spring of 2020, the Department of Fine Arts opted to stage the Class of 2020 MFA thesis exhibition in conjunction with the Class of 2021 exhibition. Curated by Yuri Stone and installed at Philadelphia’s Icebox Project Space, this special presentation is entitled “Double Feature.” Launching in late May, a dedicated fine arts website will offer an immersive experience separate and distinct from the in-person gallery experience.
Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of information presented on this site. If you find an error, or, as a graduating student, you would like to be included, contact Weitzman Communications at news@design.upenn.edu.
