Megan York

Megan York is an architectural designer graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. Prior to Penn, Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ball State University with academic honors, along with a minor in historic preservation.

During her time at Penn, Megan has worked for world-renowned design firms, including Mark Foster Gage Architects in New York City and Tom Wiscombe Architecture in Los Angeles. In addition, she has also been a Graduate Assistant for all six semesters of her education, working for Maya Alam, Hina Jamelle, Simon Kim, Nate Hume, Kutan Ayata, Miroslava Brooks, and Brian DeLuna.

In the past three years, Megan has also been internationally recognized for her work – both at Penn as well as through outside competitions; one of the finalists in Metropolis Magazine Future 100 Portfolio Competition, first place winner of the Dales Travel Fellowship, second place in HOK Design Futures Competition (two years in a row), Warren Powers Laird Award, and the James Smyth Memorial Prize.

Megan will continue her architectural career in New York City, continuing her personal interests in designs of the familiar and the spectacular, dialogues between the natural and synthetic, and the architectural theories in aesthetics.
