Meris Westberg

Master of Science in Historic Preservation

Meris has focused her graduate studies on the conservation of historic architectural materials and building systems with an emphasis on preventive interventions. After spending her early career in archives and art conservation, she looks forward to approaching cultural heritage preservation from a different perspective. She also has a strong interest in public policy and equitable, inclusive preservation practice. Her thesis on Flood Preparedness at Cultural Heritage Sites builds on her prior training in emergency response and preventive conservation for museum collections. She looks forward to navigating both the minute material issues and major systemic issues posed by historic preservation. Her time at Penn Preservation and the wisdom she’s received from her instructors and peers has been a privilege.
