My experience at Penn design has led me to be interested in the blurred conditions present in the relationship between an existing object and its synthetic counterpart. For example, what happens when a delicate ceramic object made of calcium is exhibited next to a 3d-printed stone that is made of the same material. Which one is considered natural, and which one is fake? Does its matter define the object's definition, or does its environment define it? These are some of the questions that guide my exploration through materiality and iterative processes. I firmly believe that this relationship between original natural input and its synthetic transformation can significantly influence our world perception. The ability of new technologies to change a specific object's formation and alter our awareness of what is natural and what is synthetic can change how we interact with our environment.
