Eleanor Garside

Eleanor is graduating with her Master of Architecture and Certificate in Integrated Product Design. She is vested in making spaces for the betterment of one's health and wellbeing. This took many forms during her time at Penn, from the design of a childcare and community center studying sensory architecture to a temporary housing project with an energy park looking at climate hazards, migration, and mitigation. Her thesis took a more direct approach to healthy spaces as it studied spaces for people with dementia. More specifically, she sought to understand how the built environment can promote freedom and independence, strengthen community, and cultivate joy. After graduation, she will continue this pursuit of creating environments to optimize health and wellness in Boston, MA.
