Hadi El Kebbi

Hadi El Kebbi is a 2022 Master of Architecture graduate of the Weitzman School of Design. While at Penn, El Kebbi Hadi enjoyed the creative collaboration between multiple design disciplines through his involvement with city -planners and landscape architects. His design interests, academically and professionally, are centered around community engagement and computational design. El Kebbi developed his pedagogical interests through multiple assistant-teaching positions, as well as a research position with the Polyhedral Structures Laboratory under Assistant Professor of Architecture Masoud Akbarzadeh. During the summer of 2021, he was involved with Fresh Air Everywhere, a program offered by PennPraxis, with the Fresh Air Fund and the Beam Center, in which he co-led a design studio in Governor’s Island, New York. The studio introduced New York City youths from disadvantaged neighborhoods to design tools and concepts, and how they can be used to address socio-political matters and urban interventions.  Outside of design, El Kebbi has been an active member of Penn Rising Senior Summer Academy and Penn’'s Student Mentorship Program, programs that offer college and career guidance to Philadelphia public and charter high school students. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Music from Lehigh University, and has worked at firms in Beirut and the U.S.
