John Dai

Jianan "John" Dai is a graduating with his Master of Architecture in May 2022; he previously received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University in 2016. During his time at Weitzman, John had a full exposure in both theory and practice sides of architecture, where he further developed his design skills and expanded his toolkit in modeling, coding, visualizations and detailing.

Besides his academic pursuits, John was a engaging community member of Weitzman. He served the Co-President of Weiztman Student Council from 2018-2019, which he believes that armed him with ample leadership and communication skills that he transcended into the professional world later.

John has always been committed to practice. He took two years off school in 2019 to work for UNStudio in the Netherlands, then subsequently establishing his own design workshop Studio Curves in Shanghai in late 2020, which he will continue to grow post graduation. John would like to thank his parents for allowing him to explore his interests and of course paying all the tuition bills; and thank Penn for the incredible, rigorous course work and the community that it created for all the students.
