Miguel Matos

Miguel is an aspiring architect and designer born in La Habana, Cuba. He holds a Bachelors of Design in Architecture and a Minor in Urban Planning from the University of Florida, from which he graduated Summa Cum Laude. In the past, Miguel has worked as an architectural intern for Oyler Wu Collaborative and RS&H. He has also served as co-editor of Babble Magazine, a student-run publication at the University of Pennsylvania, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the first and second year sequence studios at Penn.

While pursuing his academic goals, Miguel's work has been widely awarded and published by Miami Dade College, the University of Florida and the University of Pennsylvania, Surface Magazine, the Penn Museum, Pressing Matters and SuckerPUNCH Daily among others. His design intent lays on the embracing of the incomplete, the fragmented and the non-traditional as methods to develop unconventional spaces that deal with time, new programmatic tensions and renewed perceptions.
