Yifan Shi

Yifan Shi is graduating with a Master of Architecture Degree and a Certificate in Ecological Architecture from the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Engineering with Urban and Rural Planning Major from the School of Architecture, Harbin Institute of Technology.

Yifan's work ranges widely from urban planning to architectural and interior design. He mainly focuses on establishing dynamic connections among various scales and locations, materials, textures and colorations, natural and synthetic interpretations, and other interdisciplinary aspects such as music, culture and society.

While studying at UPenn, Yifan has been awarded the Penn Design Merit Scholarship, the E. Lewis Dales Traveling Fellowship, the Harlan Coornvelt Memorial Medal and other multiple nominations. His work has been published in Pressing Matters, Morphosis Architects, Curious Cabinets with Penn Museum, Weitzman School of Design, ArchDaily and other related websites, exhibitions and publications.

Currently, Yifan is heading to Shanghai to continue his practice as an architect, artist, designer and teacher. Yifan's time at UPenn was fruitful, marvelous and inspiring, and he wants to express his gratitude to his fantastic parents, instructors, friends, colleagues, and everyone he has met on this unforgettable journey in his life.
