Exploring Environmental Justice in the Delaware River Valley
This project applies k-means cluster analysis to investigate environmental justice issues in the Delaware River Basin, spanning New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. By grouping census tracts into nine clusters based on normalized socio-economic and environmental factors, the study identifies areas with compounded vulnerabilities. Utilizing federal datasets from agencies like the US Census Bureau and EPA, the analysis ensures replicability and clarity through visualizations like maps and boxplots, highlighting significant disparities across clusters.
