Aligning Educational Resources Using Matriculation Forecasts
Parental choices, neighborhood characteristics, facility capacity, and housing patterns all play a complex role in determining public school enrollment in Washington, DC. These issues are becoming more dynamic as the population of elementary school-aged children expands over the years. By providing a scenario-based forecasting tool centered on K–5 student enrollment, our dashboard assists the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME) by providing a preview into long-term, school-specific projections through SY29–30. This is intended to support our client in utilizing more extensive data sources and modeling for more effective resource allocation and school planning.
