Earlier this summer the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation announced their plan to transform Philadelphia’s Municipal Pier 9 into the Cherry Street Pier. The project’s goal is to create a working, social, and commercial space for collaboration between entrepreneurs, makers, and artists in the city.
Interface Studio Architects, founded by Brian Phillips, a 1996 graduate of PennDesign’s Master of Architecture and a current Lecturer in Architecture, is one of the consulting firms for the project, which is anticipated to be open to the public in late spring or early summer 2018. You can read more about the project here and can even fill out a Tenant Expression of Interest Form if you’re an artist/creative/maker interested in a studio or retail space at the pier.
