Ellison Turpin

Ellison Turpin is a designer who believes that good design directly impacts human experience and their interpretation of space. To this end she is particularly interested in details and how things are crafted and constructed.

Throughout her graduate career, Ellison has focused on classes that could expose her to new experiences and teach her the best ways to develop and present her ideas. While at Penn, she had the opportunity to study at the Architectural Association in London and spent a summer studying in Paris where she was able to explore new ideas about design. Outside of the architecture school, Ellison took classes through the Integrated Product Design certificate to expose her to the more practical engineering and business sides of design in pursuing her dream of running her own office.

Professionally, Ellison has worked across a range of markets including higher education, commercial and multi-family housing, and theater design. Her professional experience extends beyond the architecture office to include land surveying and fabrication.

She plans to one day open her own design/make office that specializes in installation-based architecture where she can put together everything she’s learned academically and professionally.
