Ruxin Zheng

Ruxin is a MArch Candidate 2020 with a bachelor’s degree of Landscape Architecture from SCUT in China. Her professional interest is in revealing and pushing forward the tension between architecture and other disciplines such as Environmental Design, Robotic Engineering, and Public Policy.

In the 704 studio, Polyvalent Matter: An Additive Manufactured Architecture, she and her team design the 3D-printed Car “Fordist” and explored the approach of building construction using additive manufacture. The process of extrusion and layering formed additively using dynamic formwork is registered in the building structure which brings the building to life and shows the high potential of robotic printing building elements on site in the coming future.
