Toward a National Heat Risk Index

This project focuses on developing a Heat Vulnerability Index (HVI) for Philadelphia using Mean Radiant Temperature (MRT) as the primary temperature proxy. The MRT-based HVI aims to provide a more accurate representation of human-experienced heat stress by incorporating environmental factors and the radiative effects of surrounding surfaces, which are often overlooked in traditional temperature measures like Land Surface Temperature (LST).
