As the Netherlands faces increasing sea level rise and flooding risks due to climate change, it's important to consider strategies that can help mitigate these impacts. Our proposal is to encourage people living on the west coast to move to the east, where the risks are lower. To prepare for potential crises, we've focused on the towns of Winterswijk and Vreden on the Dutch-German border. Both of these towns are facing challenges related to loss of biodiversity and the impact of human activity on their uniq

This results in a park characterized by a varying presence of water and access depending on the seasonal and immediate weather conditions. For the most extreme rainfall, the park has a well at its center to store larger quantities of water for longer periods which can later be pumped up and back through the soakway to maintain moisture during the most extreme heatwaves.

The Water Tower, When water is drawn from the river into the building, it goes through a purification system which filters out harmful chemicals. Minerals gradually accumulate and form a large chunk of crystal. Purified fresh water then pours down from the top forming a waterfall. This monumental structure places an emphasis on water pollution issues in the city, meanwhile tribute to the sublime of nature.
