We are pleased to announce an exciting two part workshop that is designed specifically for students graduating in December 2017 or May 2018. This is a unique opportunity to practice your interviewing skills in front of top executives. Participation in Part I is a requirement for Part II.
Part I: Preparing for the Job Market: Self-Marketing & Interviewing Skills Workshop
Learn and practice techniques that will build your confidence in answering the “Tell Me About Yourself” question often asked on job interviews and in networking situations. Participants will learn how to:
Develop an organized presentation that will include career goals, background, relevant strengths, successes, and other distinctive/noteworthy skills.
Speak with confidence and poise.
Learn to sell yourself!
Participants may be video-recorded so that you can see your own performance and get feedback. Presented by Anne Weisbord, president of Career Services Unlimited, who has over 20 years of experience including teaching presentation skills to MBA students at Wharton and at Temple University.
Please register below for one of the following sessions in Meyerson Hall and Klienman Center (pizza will be served at each workshop):
Part II: Preparing for the Job Market: Practicing Your Interviewing and Networking Skills with the PennDesign Board of Overseers, October 26th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Lower Gallery, Meyerson Hall
Meet in 15-minute one-on-one sessions with our PennDesign Overseers!
Students will have 5 minutes to present:
· Their “Story”: how the student conveys an “elevator pitch” description of themselves that distinguishes them from others.
· Career aspirations: what the student wants to do with his or her career, and how he or she can contribute to the employer’s goals.
· Leadership roles
Representatives from the Board of Overseers will then provide feedback on the student presentation, student initiative, and resume quality. A list of participating PennDesign Overseers and their business affiliations will be posted shortly.
