Weitzman's Robotics Lab puts architecture students at the forefront of innovation in architectural design and manufacturing. A Master of Science in Robotics and Autonomous Systems (MSD-RAS) post-professional degree offers a one-year immersion in robotic fabrication.
Through a $1.3 million grant from Getty, students from the Department of Historic Preservation conducted research at Wupatki National Monument in Arizona for a conservation and management plan developed by Weitzman's Center for Architectural Conservation. The project was a collaboration with the National Park Service and Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps.
In a collaboration between PennPraxis, the Graduate School of Education, Perelman School of Medicine, and Netter Center for Community Partnerships, Weitzman students transformed the courtyard at the William L. Sayre High School in West Philadelphia into a vibrant outdoor wellness area for students. Realized through an interdisciplinary studio, the project was made possible by a grant from Penn’s Office of Social Equity and Community. (Photo Eric Sucar)
At the center of the MFA program’s curriculum is studio production, which is supported by a constellation of individual and group studio critiques led by the faculty and an acclaimed group of rotating visitors: senior critics, visiting artists, curators and writers.
