Congratulations to Historic Preservation alumna Catherine Dewey (MSHP’99) who has been named Chief Resource Manager for the National Mall and Memorial Parks in the National Park Service. She has been acting Chief since 2014 after working with the Park Service in a variety of capacities, including Historic Architecture Program Manager for the Capital Region. She was awarded the Region's Appleman-Judd Award as a cultural resource specialist, and will continue to provide leadership, advice, and policy for conserving cultural and natural resources on the National Mall.
Catherine Dewey recieved her Bachelor's Degree in Classical Antiquities from the University of Kansas before attending the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn she studied in the Historic Preservation Department and recieved her Master's of Science in Historic Preservation in 1999, with a focus in Architectural Conservation.
