Join us for a special guest lecture by Richard Davies, Esq., Hon. AIA. He is the Managing Partner of Milber Makris's Pennsylvania office, an attorney who represents architects, engineers, and other design professionals. Davies is also a member of the Weitzman Board of Advisors. In this session, Davies will give examples of risk management and how he provides consultation to architects on issues such as: errors and omissions in façade, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems; serious personal injury and death; schedule impact (delay, acceleration, and inefficiencies) and extra work claims; violations of state licensing laws and copyrights; and failures to comply with ADA, FHA, state and local accessibility requirements.
This is a valuable opportunity for architecture graduate students to gain insight into the legal landscape surrounding professional practice and learn how thoughtful contract management and risk awareness can support successful projects.
