McCann leads AECOM’s design + planning and economics practice which comprises 1700 urban designers, planners, landscape architects and economists around the globe. She is a passionate advocate of integrated practice and the benefits that are realized by this approach to solving complex problems. Her career has spanned global practice in urban regeneration, community planning and landscape architecture since 1981. She has worked on transformational projects at all scales ranging from the Sydney Olympics, heralded as the first green Olympic Games and encompassing the largest brownfield cleanup undertaken in Australia, through to urban regeneration projects such as Mission Bay in San Francisco, and Nova Luz in Sao Paulo.
McCann has been recognized as a creative leader in her field and she is a sought out participant in projects that address complex land use, environmental, and socio-economic challenges. Sustainability is embedded in her work as the foundation to the planning and design process. McCann was recently recognized as one of the Bay Area’s most influential women by the San Francisco Business Times and is the recipient of numerous industry awards for her work.
