Associate Professor of Practice David Gouverneur and MLA '15 student Helen Elizabeth Yu traveled to the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon for a two-part refugee camp design workshop organized by the American University in Beirut and the International Federation of Landscape Architects. The first workshop, held in January, focused on meeting with stakeholders like the United Nations and local NGOs, while the second workshop, held in May, engaged Syrian refugees, Lebanese students, and professors from around the world to design and build landscape-focused interventions in Al Tilyane refugee camp.
