Ebony Powell, CHES, is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing both a Master of Public Health and Master of City Planning. She was previously a graduate assistant for the Center for Public Health Initiatives. Ebony was also a health educator for A Better Start at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia where she provided health education services to children in pre-K through 8th grade and adults in various community settings. She holds a Bachelor of Science in public health from Temple University (‘14) and became a Certified Health Education Specialist in 2015. Ebony was named Volunteer of the Year for Youth Services while interning at the American Red Cross (2013). With a passion for and commitment to the community, Ebony has served on the Community Advisory Committee at ACHIEVEability in West Philadelphia and served as a White House Intern for Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative. From 2016-2018, Ebony worked as a coordinator at the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) in Washington, D.C.
