How did you get interested in your field?
There was a time when I felt that nature could really heal people. I think this is a field for me to find, reveal, and create beauty in the world.
What was your background prior to coming to Penn?
I spent 4 years in the Landscape Architecture program at Beijing Forestry University.
Why did you choose Penn?
Penn’s landscape architecture program has diverse directions that could fit everyone’s interests.
What has been your favorite class so far?
I like Studio 501 the most. That course allowed me to slow down and think of the natural world in a new way, greatly impacting me in the following school time.
What are you learning right now that will help you in the future?
I am in a class called Materials for Functions and Forms. I think it will provide me with opportunities to work with materials innovatively, fostering my understanding of materials and helping me keep thinking and inventing.
What do you like best about Philadelphia?
It is a sports city, with a beautiful river.
What kinds of activities and/or organizations are you involved in?
I take photos for the school. I take photos alone or with my friends every week when I want to take a break.
What are your career ambitions?
I want to blend photography and landscape architecture.
