Eliott Haddad is an MSD-EBD student at the Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the connection between climate-responsive design and culturally relevant architecture. His professional work in Lebanon inspired him to pursue well-rounded design solutions that are rooted in their unique social and environmental contexts.
His hands-on experience with traditional techniques and vernacular materials in Lebanon was the main reason he decided to pursue the MSDEBD program. He is now advancing his knowledge of building science, exploring not just energy performance but the important relationship between people and their built environment.
Through his studies, Eliott intends to design innovative architecture that is both environmentally responsible and authentically tied to the communities it serves, building a connection between people, place, and structure.
