How did you get interested in your field?
What was your background prior to coming to Penn? I came to Penn right after graduating from MIT, where I majored in architecture with a minor in environment and sustainability.
Why did you choose Penn?
I think that there’s a lot of emphasis on a very thoughtful approach to the various aspects of design at Penn. I also appreciated how well rounded the curriculum is.
What has been your favorite class so far?
I have really enjoyed my construction classes. It’s interesting to learn about the details of how buildings actually come together, and it wasn’t something that other classes I’ve taken have really focused on.
What are you learning right now that will help you in the future?
I think that learning Revit in my construction class last semester is something that has a very tangible impact on career opportunities as a skill that employers are looking for.
What do you like best about Philadelphia?
I really like how Philly feels both big and small at the same time. I feel like I’m always discovering new things, and yet the city is easy to navigate and get around.
What kinds of activities and/or organizations are you involved in?
Outside of class, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, baking, and music.
What are your career ambitions?
I’d like to focus on sustainability in my career, and work on projects that positively impact communities and the environment.
