Todd Montgomery's work sits at the intersection of creative landscape design, ecological restoration, and long-term stewardship. For sixteen years he worked at Andropogon Associates, where he helped lead award-winning projects for schools, nature preserves, and mission-driven institutions across the country. His work there was grounded in a belief that landscapes must be both deeply functional and deeply cared for - places shaped through patient observation, iterative design, and a commitment to the ecological processes that sustain them.
Todd is now the newest member of the design leadership at Indigenous Ingenuities, a design/build firm founded on an fully integrated approach to planning, construction, and land care. His current work focuses on expanding the firm’s mission and model into larger parks, campuses, public spaces, and restoration-driven projects. At Indigenous Ingenuities, he is advancing a philosophy centered on long-term, place-based engagement - where the same people who shape a concept remain intimately involved in building, adapting, and stewarding it as it evolves.
Across all scales, Todd’s practice is driven by a belief that great landscapes emerge through relationship: with clients, with communities, and with the living systems that make each site unique. His work seeks to create landscapes that are ecological, beautiful, and durable - not because they resist change, but because they are designed to be tended, learned from, and reimagined as conditions shift.
