Philadelphia—The University of Pennsylvania School of Design (PennDesign) Spring 2018 Lecture Series brings more than 30 of the world’s leading architects, landscape architects, planners, artists, and preservationists to Philadelphia. The series opens on Monday, January 22, with Manuel Pastor (Professor of Sociology and American Studies & Ethnicity, University of Southern California), in conversation with PennDesign Dean and Paley Professor Frederick Steiner, and a lecture by Enrique Norten (Principal, TEN Arquitectos). The schedule includes a conference on history, environment, and risk in architecture; and symposium on the concrete surface from a conservation standpoint.
