Weitzman School Kahn Society

The Kahn Society seeks to preserve the multi-disciplinary approach to design education advanced by Kahn during his years at Penn and as seen in his exceptional works around the world.

Louis I. Kahn was a masterful visionary and, still to this day, nearly four decades after his death, is a contemporary architect. Weitzman School is creating the Kahn Society to honor Louis I. Kahn, our most legendary alumnus and professor, and to preserve the multi-disciplinary approach to design education advanced by Kahn during his years at Penn and as seen in his exceptional works around the world.

The Kahn Society exists to support:
- The renovation of the Kahn Studio in Frank Furness' Fine Arts Library
- The creation of an endowment to preserve the Kahn archives
- The renovation and rebuilding of the plaza between the Fine Arts Library and Meyerson Hall
- The completion of a full endowment for the Kahn Professorship
- The renovation of the Design Studios

Membership in the Kahn Society is open to all students of Kahn's Master Class as well as those who hold Louis Kahn's work in the highest regard. Our goal is to raise $5,000,000 in support of the above projects and other Kahn-related efforts.

For more information on becoming a member of the Kahn Society, please contact Associate Dean for External Affairs Richard Fitzgerald at rickfitz@design.upenn.edu or 215.898.8738.
