The editors at Babble, PennDesign's graduate architecture student publication, have curated a selection of recent architectural models to provoke questions on the function of the architectural model. By selecting models from a wide variety of schools of architectural thought, they ask us to question their use of form, color, and texture in relationship to the ends they wish to achieve.
The exhibition is on view in the Philomathean Society's Art Gallery from January 24 to February 1, with the opening reception taking place on the 24 at 6:00pm. Light snacks will be served.
If you wish to view the gallery but cannot make it to the opening, please email akurt@upenn.edu to set up an appointment.
Founded in 2017, Babble is a student-led and founded publication on architecture from the University of Pennsylvania School of Design that serves as a retrospective culmination of the different pedagogical approaches that the School has engaged with over the course of the prior academic year. A broad spectrum of student projects and essays, paired with a focused series of off-the-cuff “babbles” with current critics, faculty and practitioners, Babble provides a synthesis of PennDesign’s diversified approach to architectural making, thinking, and subsequently, practicing.
