“The goal of the symposium is to cultivate understanding and foster action. We will begin by examining the historical framework of women in architecture, tracing their educational attainment and professional achievements. Focusing on the ‘gap’ which occurs between education and practice, we will attempt to understand what cultural shifts perpetuate it and identify strategies to address the problem. Our aim is to create social and cultural value within the PennDesign community.” –PennDesign Women in Architecture, a student initiative
