Designed by his firm Morphosis, the new museum will be an impressive 53,000-square-foot facility in Costa Mesa, California.
Located on the campus of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, it will include exhibition galleries, amulti-purpose education hall, roof terrace, event spaces, museum store, café, and administrative and support spaces. It is projected to open in 2021.
Morphosis describes the design as creating a "strong relationship between indoor and outdoor space [that] encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the celebrated climate of southern California, where light, air, and space have influenced generations of artists."
