Lilia Sterling has been a great lover of the arts since she first toddled through all of New York’s major institutions. She believes deeply in listening to artists and their needs. As the Artist Programs Manager, Grants at the Joan Mitchell Foundation, Lilia manages the logistics of the Foundation's grant programs from nomination to selection and serves as the first point of contact for artists around all artist programs. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2016, Lilia spent three years as a Program Officer at a private family foundation focused on child welfare, where she managed that foundation’s grant portfolio. In her free time, she loves to bring people together for outdoor dinner parties and is always looking for the next interesting place to travel with her husband and their friends. She is a passionate supporter of animal rescue shelters, and dreams of one day owning acres of land so she can rescue all the dogs. Lilia holds a BA in Art History and Anthropology from New York University.
