Professor Tom Daniels will serve as the Interim Chair of the Department of City and Regional Planning from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Professor John Landis will teach at Penn this fall and then take a sabbatical to the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia for the spring 2016 semester. He will return to Penn next summer.
Professor Daniels came to Penn in 2003 and is the Director of the concentration of in Land Use and Environmental Planning and he also directs the certificate program in Land Preservation. Professor Daniels was Associate Department Chair from 2003 to 2008 and Interim Chair in the Spring of 2006.
“I am looking forward to working with Kate Daniel and Roslynne Carter, our outstanding staff, as well with the faculty and students to make the planning education process engaging, effective, and efficient,” Professor Daniels said. “Our faculty are doing a lot of exciting research; our second year students are returning with valuable planning internship experience, and I welcome the first year students to explore our diverse array of planning courses and concentrations.”
