Presented annually, the Weitzman Year End Show brings together work by graduating students across the School to capture new directions in architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning, historic preservation, and urban spatial analytics. A companion website offers a deep dive into the individual agendas of emerging artists, designers, planners, preservationists, and historians, with statements of intent from participating graduates and links to their professional websites. Individual thesis projects in architecture, planning, and preservation are presented alongside collaborative studio-based works.
In addition to viewing hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, the exhibition will be open to the public for Commencement and Alumni Weekend, the Reception for Weitzman Classes of 2020 and 2021, and during the 2022 National Docomomo Symposium.
The Department of Fine Arts is mounting a parallel exhibition of the work of MFA graduates. Imperative of Struggle is on view from May 13 through 26, at Icebox Project Space, Crane Arts Building, 1400 North America Street. Viewing hours are Wednesday through Saturday 12:00 - 6:00pm. There is an opening reception on Thursday, May 12.
Visitors to Penn’s campus are required to complete PennOpen Campus on the day of their visit and present a Green Pass for entry to events. This requirement does not apply to virtual events. While masking is still strongly encouraged in indoor public settings, it is not currently mandated by the City of Philadelphia.
