Atelier FCJZ is one of two contemporary architecture firms, along with Amateur Architecture Studio, featured in the two-part exhibition Building in China: A Century of Dialogues on Modern Architecture, which investigates the country’s shifting design practices over a century in which many of its leading practitioners and scholars were educated at Penn. On view at Penn’s Fisher Fine Arts Library January 28 through May 16, the second part of the exhibition explores how contemporary Chinese architects have incorporated and balanced modernity and locality on the small, medium, and large scales, and how their work reflects certain ideals for contemporary Chinese urban and rural societies.

He has been practicing in China since 1992 and established Atelier Feichang Jianzhu with Lijia Lu in 1993.
