The Fall 2025 Architectural Technology Speaker Series - Data, Details, Delivery, is a series of daytime lectures from leading practitioners and researchers presented by the Department of Architecture's Technology Committee.
This presentation introduces the work being carried out at the CEA Lab, ETH Zurich, to promote Circular Construction through digital innovation. It covers past and current research themes covered and presents a selection of case studies that have been developed. Some envisioned future research directions are also outlined as a seed for discussion.
Dr. Claudio Martani is an Oberassistent at the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (CEA) at ETH Zürich, a role he has held since February 2025.
Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Purdue School of Construction Management Technology (2022-2024), where he was also an ICON-affiliated faculty member and Director of the Laboratory for Future-Ready Infrastructure (FuRI). At FuRI Lab, Dr. Martani focused on developing strategies to reduce risks in construction and infrastructure and on designing flexible, resilient, and responsive systems to manage future uncertainties.
