The University's sixth annual Climate Week at Penn will be held October 13-17, 2025. Featuring faculty members from across the University, this vibrant event series offers a chance for the entire Penn community to engage in learning and action around climate. The theme of this year's event is Hot Spots, be they literal (wildfires and extreme heat) or figurative (political, cultural, interpersonal, or scholarly hot topics).
Among the scheduled speakers from Weitzman are Dorit Aviv, Assistant Professor of Architecture and director of the Thermal Architecture Lab, and Jennifer Wilcox, Presidential Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Energy Policy and director of the Clean Energy Conversions Laboratory. They are presenting as part of the 1.5* Minute Faculty Lecture Series.
On October 14, energy scholars Sanya Carley and David Konisky talk about their new book, Power Lines: The Human Costs of American Energy in Transition. Carley is Presidential Distinguished Professor of Energy Policy & City Planning and Mark Alan Hughes Faculty Director of the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy.
