Tamara Suber (MFA'11), Executive Coordinator of Grants / Community and Equity Strategies for The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation, will cover important aspects of grant-writing for artists and how to gain confidence in fundraising and proposal writing. Snacks will be served!
Tamara Suber born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received a BFA, from MICA and MFA from University of Pennsylvania, she is a multi-media performance artist and sculpture, whose works are centered on the process of osmosis. They draw directly from Tamara’s childhood fantasies and anxieties as well as desires to complete the circuit between man, animal, and land. They examine agriculture, ideas of sustainability, and systems of trade through physical, spiritual, and emotional experiences. Tamara has shown in-group exhibitions nationwide and has completed residencies at Vermont Studio Center & Skowhegan SPC. She has also taken her research and interest in relational aesthetics and agricultural issues as far as India. Lovers, family, friends, horses, cows, sheep, barbershop owners, ranch owners, and many more all are apart of her explorations. Her photographs, video, performances, and sculptures all hold the powerful residue of these very real adventures. The exploration and celebration of land, friendship, hard work, and history are driving vehicles within her most recent performances. It is important to her that these exchanges be shared with the public.
