The theme of the PhilaDelic Conference this year, which is organized in part by the Department of Fine Arts, is Paradigm Shifts in Psychedelic Studies.
A paradigm shift, as defined by Thomas Kuhn, is a fundamental change in the basic concepts and experimental practices of a scientific discipline. Psychedelic compounds are long revered for their unique capacity to expand consciousness and illuminate insight, informing and inspiring new frameworks of understanding. We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners with diverse backgrounds to reflect upon this concept and engage in transdisciplinary dialogue about how psychedelics shape and reshape our perspective of the world.
Weitzman Professor of Fine Arts Jackie Tileston will be hosting the Saturday, October 5 panel on Psychedelic Ontology and Metaphysics.
