Join us for a rare US screening of 'Bloody Beans' directed by Narimane Mari.
Drawing from a long history of reflexive anthropological filmmaking, Algerian born director Narimane Mari conscripts a gaggle of children for an unorthodox collaboration. The game is to re-enact the Algerian Civil War of Independence, and the children concoct a menacing, dreamlike sequence of events, culminating the in the kidnapping of a French soldier. Runtime is 77 minutes.
Admission is free.
This screening is being held in conjunction with 'Authority, Emotion, and Exclusion,' a Group Relations Conference which will happen in Philadelphia in January. For more information, and to apply, visit: authorityemotionexclusion.com
