Kate Lawrence is an artist and sculptor living in Philadelphia, PA. She received an MFA from the Sculpture + Extended Media program at Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Washington in Seattle. Having grown up in Chester Springs, PA, she spent ten years living and working in cities across the US before returning to the Philadelphia area and beginning work at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. Kate's studio practice builds narrative installations circling around themes of preservation and transformation - within group dynamics, material objects, and their corporeal relationships. Interested in digestion and community, she is a founder and director of Rillette on Toast Supper Club, producing experimental culinary events.
