The photography resources include conventional wet labs, high-level digital photography studios, large-format archival inkjet printers, Hasselblad Flextight film scanners, and private studios. In addition the photography facilities house an equipment room that allows students to reserve specialized photography and video equipment.
The Silverstein Photography Center is an advanced studio for students working in upper level photography courses and related media. The center houses ten computer workstations with Eizo LCD color calibrated monitors, high-end flatbed scanners, a Hasselbald Flexlight film scanner, and professional large-format inkjet printers with high-end archival paper options. The center is outfitted with GTI lighting and viewing booths to provide calibrated lighting that ensures an accurate and consistent environment.
The Photography and Video Equipment Room serves the technological needs of students, faculty, and staff by circulating a wide range of audio-visual equipment to accommodate documentation, creation, instructional, and exhibition needs. A selected list of equipment includes: HD video cameras, analog and digital still cameras of all formats, video servers, Blu-ray players, strobe and tungsten lighting kits, video projectors, audio recorders and microphones, tripods, c-stands and grip equipment. Additional resources include on-site photography and video shooting studios that are available to students and faculty to reserve for private use as well as specialized equipment tutorials lead by the Fine Arts Department staff.
